Review: P3 Portable Protein Pack

Okay so when I say I have a new fav I mean I have a new fav!!  Being in grad school and a working mom it has been such a struggle trying to keep my (somewhat) healthy eating habits intact.
Oscar Meyer hasn't necessarily been known as the healthiest option, but they come through in a pinch.

These were $1.97 each at Walmart. Each package has about five grilled chicken pieces and a dipping sauce. I only saw the ones with bbq and teriyaki sauce. From my research I found that there was one with light ranch as well. I ended up heating the chicken in the microwave.
These are actually delicious. The chicken was not too tough and it was extremely well-seasoned. It did have a rubbery texture but it certainly served its purpose. The great thing is right now there are coupons attached where you get $1.00 off when you buy two. These are perfect in a pinch and I'll definitely be buying them again.

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Smoothie Review

Before I got so I incredibly busy I was on a smoothie kick. I used Greek yogurt, fruit, milk, protein powder mostly. But like a lot of things lately, I haven't been consistent. I ran across these smoothies from Weight Watchers Smart Ones at my local Food Lion. I spied tropical fruit which was mango and pineapple. They also had strawberry banana and mixed berry. While I wasn't particular about the $2.00 price tag, I was eager to try.

I was disappointed in how little was actually in the cup. It was less than half in there. The box said it contained real fruit and yogurt so I had high expectations and taste-wise I was not disappointed. There were chunks of fruit and the yogurt really set it off. It was sweet but not too sweet. It was absolutely delicious. The smoothie contained 130 calories, .5 grams of fat, 4 grams of fiber, and 6 grams of protein. Not to bad as far as nutritional information but not worth it as far as price. The only way I'll buy these again is if there is a good sale or I have coupons.

Marshall's Find!

Since I'm on my new (once again) health kick I have been looking for cost efficient items to assist me. A lot of people don't know that Marshall's or TJ Maxx are great places to find deals.

The Cure for My Soda Addiction?

I have a strange relationship with soda, (or pop as our mid-western friends say). I really only drink diet, but I really shouldn't be drinking any. There's something about the taste of a cold, carbonated beverage after a salty snack. I have been able to cut back a little bit but I still have my weak moments. I ran across Zevia zero calorie soda in Walmart for $1.00 for a can and thought it might be a great product to try. It contains no sugar or artificial sweeteners. I chose lemon lime twist although their website shows a pretty big selection.
I could barely wait to try this beverage and in all actuality, it was okay. Of course it was missing that sweet, syrupy taste that I'm accustomed to, but it wasn't all that bad. It was a semi-sweet drink. The lemon-lime taste was obvious, so overall this may be a hit for those who are okay with a less sweet soda or someone who just wants the taste of it. For the price that it was, I probably will not be purchasing it again.
